What is CBD and why should I use it?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a chemical compound naturally found in cannabis, the same plant used to make marijuana. But the two are very different.

Weed also has THC, the ingredient that causes a high. CBD—which comes in a variety of forms—is extracted from the plant and used for medicinal purposes only. It isn't addictive, and it can't make you high.
There are two main plant sources from which CBD can be extracted: marijuana and hemp. Both plants are part of the cannabis sativa family. However, there are far greater amounts of CBD found in hemp and negligible amounts of THC (less than 0.3 %) versus as much as 30% THC in marijuana.

The Endocannabinoid System

Scientists have discovered a network inside the human body that maintains our mind & body’s balanced well-being. It’s called the Endocannabinoid system (ECS). This system regulates many of our immune functions, including stress and anxiety, memory, pain and inflammation levels. When our endocannabinoid system is functioning normal, we have a clear mind, calm nerves, and an overall better mood. Our immune system is also optimized to run more efficiently.

Benefits of Using CBD
For many, using CBD is various forms can help with numerous complaints. Including aches, pains, skin issues, digestive issues, sleeping problems and mental health concerns. "In terms of its therapeutic potential, CBD has not only been found to help with depression, anxiety, and epilepsy, but soon we could even be adding metabolic disorders, like diabetes to the list," Martin Lee, author of "Smoke Signals: A Social History of Marijuana—Medical, Recreational, and Scientific", and co-founder and director of Project CBD tells us. Of course, people’s reactions to CBD will vary depending on what you are treating and what the product is being used for. CBD is an adaptive molecule that will respond to every person’s body differently.
